Some Things I Love This Week

...that I met a funny guy with really bad OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) at my garage sale that insisted he could fix my computer so I wouldn't need to buy a new one... and it turned out he was totally right!

...beautiful mosaic sparkly glass pumpkins that make even me think of Fall as a cozy seasonal change that means another summer is really only 8 short months away... and that I can find lots of things to love about the other non-summer seasons.

...that my hair is blonder than ever thanks to time spent in the sun in Palm Springs.  It's like taking the summer with me right into the Fall.

...how I managed to stain the deck on the very last truly warm day.

...that I have a few tomatoes left that will ripen while still on the vine.

...how glad I am that spending time at the vacation place has made me acutely aware of how little stuff I actually need to live.  And that I am now putting a plan into action to get my regular home into a similar state.

...that the neighbor lady got to have a whole day of laughing and visiting and just enjoying the company of her friends while we whiled away the hours selling stuff that other people could use more than we could.

...how tremendously different my nephew's attitude is towards learning since we've started with the homeschooling.

...my own openness to new experiences that have been previously completely uncomfortable.

What are you loving this week???

  1. My friends son got his first moose....big deal when that is their food for a year.
My son decided to climb in bed with me to homeschool when I was to tired to sit at the table.

    1. This is all great stuff. I love that you live where people are good at providing for themselves. And isn't it great that kids just seem to know what we need sometimes?!

  3. We can only have community yard sales where I live and I missed our summer sale due to traveling. I really need to have a garage sale! I would be loving getting rid of some stuff if I could do it.

    1. Luckily our HOA here is pretty low key as I have been truly enjoying this getting rid of stuff. It is so freeing to be able to free yourself of too much stuff!
You could donate and take the tax write off. I have been known to do that as well.

    2. We give a lot to Goodwill to take the tax write-off. Still there are some things that I'd prefer to sell and many of those Goodwill doesn't take. I'd like to make a few bucks myself if I could. I'm working on posting on Craig's List but responses haven't been as good as they were a few years ago when I did this. I think times are tougher and people are buying as much as they are selling.

  4. My favorite one of yours is the first one of the ocd man you met at your garage sale who fixed your computer. I just had to buy a new computer but it's still in the box. Wish I could have met him too. LOL

    1. He was so funny. He was willing to look at a computer just about anywhere- even clear across town for somebody he talked to at our sale. He told us he was like the Johnny Appleseed of computers. Maybe he'll make it out your way some time. Getting and setting up a new computer is so annoying...

    2. Johnny Appleseed of computers. I really love that. We should all be Johnny Appleseeds of something. This guy must have really missed his computer if he was traveling. Mine must be Johnny Appleseed of dance as I don't charge. I love to pass on my dance knowledge. Maybe I'm doing trees too. I planted 13 trees this summer and have 3 coming from seed.
May you be enjoying a perfect weekend.
