I am so sorry to learn this - both of your sister and Randy Travis. I watched an interview on TV with him and he talked about how he was wild as a youth and didn't keep in touch with his Mother. He choked up when he said he wasn't around when she died. I am sure he was carrying quite a burden over that. His song, Three Wooden Crosses, is very touching if you want to listen to it. He made many religious recordings. "On the Other Hand" is one of his best I think. Our demons follow us don't they? Hope your sister finds her way. Take care.
It is sad. I'm a little tongue in cheek here. I know RT's music well and can't imagine how it has come to this for him. Like my sister, a lot of potential wasted. Hopefully they can both get their acts together before it is too late.
well, I'm sorry your sister was arrested...as for Randy...Wth? I have no idea...but a trip to AA may be in the cards. I hope he pulls himself out of his tailspin soon. Same for your sister.
I remember what you've written about your sister before, so the arrest is not surprising. I can only hope it helps with her reaching a place of change. It's hard to watch someone doing things that hurt themselves (and those that care about them). I wish her the best... there is always hope.
As for RT... I'm sorry to read this, too. And surprised. I haven't followed his career/life closely, but know he's made many faith-based films and songs. We just don't know the burdens people carry, or the struggles behind the scenes. Sooner or later, most of us fall on our face, and need grace and restoration. I know *I've* needed that compassion in my life! I hope he gets it too, and also agree that he needs to dohis part and get active help, like AA.
