My Goodness, How Did That Happen???

Yikes, it's been literally weeks since I've posted anything at all here.  I can't believe it.
Maybe it was that whole Christmas and New Years holidays thing.  I did actually find myself enjoying the whole process of the holiday season this year....
Or maybe it was the keeping up with homeschooling.  Oh, I'm still learning on that one...
Or could it have been the planning for a great big ol' double 40th seventies themed birthday party?  I've hired my friend, the Elvis impersonator, and yes- it's gonna' be awesome!
Actually I have to admit that the last couple of trips down to Palm Springs have left me sun soaked, adventured to the point of injury twice and yet extra relaxed- dare I say it- even just a tiny bit zoned out of real life.  Heck yeah, even doing detailed cleaning of scrubbing floors and washing windows feels a whole lot better in the sun somehow.  Yes, this doesn't look a bit like my everyday life back in the northwest, but somehow it's beginning to feel more and more like home.

I'm pondering many thoughts on how this 'California living thing' affects my overall views on life and what this means.  Yes, sometimes I am even capable of deep thoughts while basking in the sun and I'm wondering why it's taken me so long to get to this point.  Ah well, in the scheme of things, 40 years isn't so long to get to your own truth, is it?!

At any rate, it's time to get back at it.  So I think I will!

  1. Well, no matter what, it looks beautiful. I must admit I'm a bit jealous as my world is grey and bitterly cold.

    1. I'm back in the grey myself, here in Seattle now. But the cold- you got me on that. I don't know how you do it!

  2. Are you saying you are turning 40? A good age to be .... well, any age is good really. I loved them all. What sweet pictures of little Schnitzer Doodle. My favorite little dog, but don't tell Cody. What a lovely place to bask in the sun and think happy thoughts. Soak it all in.
    Love and peace

    1. Yup, I'm turning 40 and I guess it's a pretty big deal. Little Tanner looks so relaxed there in the sun. When he's home in Seattle he dives into warm laundry whenever he can. That little guy loves the heat, just like I do!

  3. Happy 40th! A 70s themed party sounds like fun. And I remember what you said about Elvis impersonators. Do I need to rededicate that Ryan Gosling interview to you on the Thursday post??? No? Okay.

Getting to your own Truth at any age is better than never getting there at all!!!

    1. My Elvis impersonator friend is performing at Seattle's EMP music museum this Saturday night. He is honestly the best and has won international competitions.
It is so amazing to get some inner truth going on. It's like a true revelation- to realize what you needed was there all along. The tough part is finding out that you do have a choice and you always did. Some of us have to just accept that and be unafraid to make the choice. But as you know, that's new for me since I wasn't raised to ever know that. It's the old 'know better, do better'.

    1. Thank you! I only wish you were kidding, but alas the things I see so many Americans aspire to are such a joke- except it isn't very funny.
I think my dog is more active and helpful than a lot of people I know. ;)

  5. It took me 47 years to realize that I need the sun and beach for my souls well being and to clear my mind. I know EXACTLY what you mean. Glad all is well!

  6. Man those flowers are beautiful. I am back as well and have finally responded to your comments. I was just burned out I guess, had writer's block, and probably the main reason was that I just wasn't doing what I preach that others ought to be doing :-)
