Do you have lucky numbers? How about other superstitious things that seem to help you out?
I'm not too superstitious myself. I do like the fun of thinking something might be lucky...
For instance, yesterday I bought a mega millions lottery ticket. I do this about 2 or 3 times a year- when I hear about the jackpot being extraordinarily large. Since my husband has assured me that the lottery is indeed a tax on people who are bad at math and I don't really think this is the best use of household resources, I don't do this on any regular basis.
However, I do find some enjoyment of just hanging onto that lottery ticket and thinking that I just might be toting around a small piece of paper that could end up being the key to a very large cash windfall, right there in my purse. That seems to be enough fun and enjoyment for my $2-$3 dollar yearly investment in the lottery.

How about you? Do you play? What If you won the lottery? What's the first thing you would do?
I never buy tickets as I have exceptionally bad luck ;) I've decided God doesn't want me to win...then life would just be to easy ;)
ReplyDeleteI used to think that I had bad luck too. Then lately I have been winning small jackpots whenever I am at a casino. Life is cyclical and you never know what God's plan really is. Good thing it's fun hanging around here on earth- most of the time!
DeleteI buy a ticket now and then. If I ever won a large amount, (very large) I'd give the ticket to my kids and let them split it. It's too complicated when one has money.

Have a peek at the above video. I think you would like it.
You will not believe this, but I have seen that video before because I was looking for other dancing chihuahuas! Mine can dance across the kitchen floor- especially if there is a piece of turkey in the deal for him. I have pictures of him dancing in a taco costume- I know, now I must post them soon!
DeleteBtw, money for me is seen as freedom to some extent. I have been dirt poor in life and a lot better off. Both are doable, but the view does change.
Chihuahua's must be dancers. None of mine could do that but I never encouraged it either because I never dreamed they could. The moment I saw that vid that someone sent me (but it was for the dancing as they didn't know I liked chihuahuas) I thought of you. Ha
DeleteA LONG TIME AGO.. as in back in my 20s... I worked in an office where there was a weekly lottery pool. I enjoyed playing in that. It was a miserable job and I loved the idea that we would all win and escape from that rotten place. Alas, it didn't happen. But, it was fun to dream.
ReplyDeleteNow I almost never buy a lottery ticket. In fact, I can't remember when I did. I would rather go to Vegas and lose my money there... hahahaha!
I worked in a miserable office in my 20's too! Must be a somewhat universal hell! Lately I don't lose on the slots and I'm not sure what to make of it. It's fun while it lasts I guess.
DeleteI only play when the lotto is huge. I do buy the scratch offs though. Once, I won $100 but that was over 10 years ago. lol
ReplyDeleteI never buy lottery tickets for fear of winning. What I want, I have.
ReplyDeleteI rarely buy lottery tickets, but when I do, I figure I'm paying for the fun I have imagining what I'd do if I won. That's worth the price of admission to me!
