Whatever's Supposed To Be Will Be

I have said that a lot.

I feel like lately I mean it more than ever.

It seems like especially because my husband and I were given an opportunity that we chose to pass up (in Arizona), I am really staring straight in the face the fact that I have to trust that things will all work out.  I know I want to do that.  I know I believe I am capable of doing that.

I still have issues with trust that linger a bit.  But I'm not going to focus on that.  I will focus on my desire to know in my heart that everything will work out better than I ever could have imagined and have a positive outlook on every day, even when things are frustrating.  Even when I can't know where things are going.

Not knowing is not a place I have ever been comfortable with.

I think I have found a good constructive way to deal with my uneasiness.  I might seem a bit simplistic, but... I have taken to thanking God and the universe for everything that comes my way, even the things that are not instantly positive.  It has been amazing!

It turns out that:

In the moment, being grateful helps me to get through any anxious feelings.  And as time passes, this process of finding something, anything to be thankful for helps my overall outlook.  In an absolutely huge way.

It feels like even though I don't have any more control than I ever have, I do have control over how I react.

How about you?  Whenever you face times of some sort of uncertainty, what are your tricks of the trade?

  1. I think the fact that you & your husband both were in agreement on the move to Arizona, despite it looking like a good decision "on paper", is a sign that you're in the right place.

Now you're just in the waiting game.

Just remember, IT WILL BE OKAY. Seriously :)

  2. I guess we can never know for sure even when something seems like a sure thing. Change is always in the air and usually randomly hits without warning. I'm learning more to just take things as they come and adapt to whatever it is.

  3. This is an excellent way to improve your perspective. I need to start doing it. TY for reminding me.

  4. Just getting on the road every day is a matter of trust. We trust that the other driver will remain on his side of the road. We don't know for sure. Yet, we still drive. That is just like life. Lack of trust denies the quality of our own lives.

As for anger, that is a personal decision. The Chinese adage is, "Control your emotions, or they will control you."

  5. I used to be a giant control freak. Then so many things happened in my life that were out of my control and I saw that they all worked out for the best, even if it was hard at the time, that I learned to let go.

  6. It's not easy, but it can be done. Just breathe, and let go. Things have a tendency of working out in the end. Maybe not always how we hoped, but still worked out for the best. Chin up!
