We're All Lucky

I'm a chatty one, really.  But lately, not so much.
I'm getting through some wierdness- something about seeing my husband go through things with his family that reminds me yet again why we're so perfect for each other.  Somehow it's tougher from the outside sometimes.  Ya know what I mean?  It also helps me to see why I'm lucky; as we all are in many ways.

On this St. Patrick's Day, I'm feeling lucky because:

1)  I have a future to look forward to that has nothing to do with my past.

2)  Fulfilling goals is important to me and I am excited about doing more of that.

3)  Being able to stop and realize that things are never all that out of control has become a part of who I am.

4)  Simple beauty appeals to me.

5)  My dogs think I am the 'cat's meow' and they make me feel like a VIP.

6)  I can drive, work, stand and walk for longer than most, without complaining.

7)  My husband wants nothing more than to have me be the me I want to be.

8)  People get excited about my cooking.

9)  My friends trust me to the nth degree.

10)  Most of the time I'm on the short learning curve.

Now You....?  Please tell me what makes you lucky too!

  1. Sometimes, dogs are the only ones that "get it".

  2. For the first time in a long time, I can actually say that number #1 on your list applies to me. For the LONGEST time all I could see in my future were more migraines. Constant migraines. And to mix it up for fun, extreme, unrelenting dizziness. It all looked rather bleak, but I simply couldn't accept that it was forever. But, it was as far as I could see - at that time. Now, things are improving. I don't think you read my IWSG post on the first Wednesday of this month, which was really all about my health update. But, if you do... you will see what I am talking about here.

As for #10, that is something I used to think about myself. Now... I think it depends on what it is. If it has to do with my choices I am clearly on the long end of the learning curve. I haven't seen clearly about that for a long time. But, I am teachable. So, that is what I am thankful for, because some people never see it. Can't. Won't. Doesn't matter, but their life remains repetition of the pattern forever. I don't want that. I want to break out of the pattern and move on to something healthier and better.

    1. So glad to hear about all your life/health improvements! You were never giving up no matter how bad it got, so I knew you would get there eventually- somehow, some way.

Notice I said 'most of the time' about #10?! I think we all have our blind spots.

  3. You are also an optimist and a realist - you are also an encourager and a great source of support. We all need to count our blessings. Take care.
